Power Bank Rental Policy
1. What you are renting
You are renting one portable power bank (with built-in USB-C and Lightning cables) for use during your visit, for a flat fee of $3 per rental. The fee is charged at checkout through Stripe. There are no hourly charges and no subscriptions.
2. When it is due back
The power bank is due back at the counter by the end of the day — before the venue closes — on the same day you rent it. Returning it means handing it to staff or placing it back in the charging dock as directed by staff.
3. If it is not returned — the $30 keep-it fee
- Paying by card: no deposit and no hold is taken when you rent. If the bank is not back by end of day, you authorize us to charge a $30 keep-it fee to the same card you paid the $3 with. After the fee is charged, the bank is treated as purchased by you.
- Paying cash: you leave a $30 refundable deposit at the counter. The deposit is handed back to whoever returns the bank. If the bank is not back by close, the deposit is kept as the keep-it fee.
- The same $30 applies if the bank is lost, stolen while in your care, or returned damaged beyond normal use.
- If we cannot complete the $30 card charge — for example, the card is declined — the fee is still owed and is payable at the counter.
- If the bank comes back after the fee was charged, contact us (Section 7) — in most cases we will refund the fee, minus the $3 rental, once the bank is back and working.
4. Your phone number and texts
A phone number is required to rent. It is used only for messages about your rental — for example a reminder before the keep-it fee applies, a notice if the fee is charged, or a confirmation when your return is recorded. We do not sell your number or send marketing texts.
5. Using the charger
- The banks are commercially manufactured, certified units. Use them as directed and keep them dry.
- Stop using the bank and tell staff if it becomes hot, swollen, damaged, or stops working.
- If a bank does not work — it will not charge, or a built-in cable fails — tell staff and we will swap it for a working bank or refund your $3.
- You use the charger at your own risk; we are not responsible for a device's pre-existing condition or battery health.
6. Payments and receipts
- Card payments are processed securely by Stripe. Your card details never touch our page or staff.
- Charges appear on your statement as MICHAEL CHARGER RENTAL.
- Stripe emails your receipt for each charge (the $3 rental, and the $30 fee if it ever applies).
7. Questions or a charge you don't recognize?
Contact us before disputing a charge with your bank — most issues are simple mistakes and we can fix them faster. Call or text (313) 241-6505 within 10 business days of the charge and tell us the date of your rental and your bank number, and we will look into it the same day.
8. Your agreement
By checking “I agree” and paying, you confirm you have read this policy and agree to its terms, including the $30 keep-it fee if the bank is not returned by end of day. Your agreement is recorded with your rental — together with your name, phone number, bank number, and the date and time — and forms part of your rental record. That recorded agreement is the electronic equivalent of your signature.
